In 2001 Southern Methodist University made a commitment to present MFA graduate designers in a relaxed and casual Portfolio Review in New York City. Held each year in the month of May we partner with many of the nation's top theatre design programs to present recent graduates looking to begin their professional career. In 2012 we expanded to include both MFA & BFA designers in scenery, lighting, costume, media, sound and make-up.
Design Showcase East is regularly attended by theatre companies, producers, directors, agents, production managers, and designers looking for new talent.

This year's event will be held on May 24th- 29th, 2021.
The annual event is both a Portfolio Review, Job Fair, and Welcoming to the City.
